NEWS RELEASE

Prepaid Mobile to Podcasting?
Revolution Telecom have taken their “online only” approach to marketing to a new level, this week releasing their very own podcast.
It may seem like a strange connection for a prepaid mobile provider to start offering podcasts on their website, but Revolution Telecom are not your average prepaid mobile provider.
The podcast covers all things Hollywood, with LA based reporter Grace Farah providing all the gossip on the entertainment industry and the celebrities therein.
Despite the name, podcasting does not actually require an iPod, or even mp3 player to listen to. At its simplest, you can download the mp3 file to your computer and listen to it on your PC as you would any other mp3.
Where podcasting starts to differentiate itself from a standard mp3 is the ease with which you can load the podcast to your mp3 player (it doesn’t need to be an iPod). So you are free to listen to it whenever and wherever you want.
To subscribe to this free service click here. Updates are added daily so you can keep abreast of all the gossip!

NEWS RELEASE
7th December 2005
Revolution launch 15c SMS Rate
Revolution Telecom have continued their quest to offer the lowest prepaid mobile offering in the Australian marketplace by reducing their SMS rate to 15c.
This new SMS rate combined with their ultra competitive standard call rate of 10c per 30 secs reinforces Revolution’s position as one of the cheapest prepaid mobile offers available to Australian consumers.
“We have experienced rapid growth in acquisitions during the last quarter as customers have realized just how low our rates are” said Revolution Managing Director George Gelavis. “But we are always looking to improve our products and we felt lowering our SMS rate was a good opportunity to not only increase our competitiveness but also reward those customers who have decided to make the switch to us.”

NEWS RELEASE
16th September 2005
I Believe in the Revolution
Revolution Telecom have today launched two new offers on their retail website www.revtel.com.au.
The offers maintain the Revolutionary motif with the concept centering around whether customers believe in the revolution.
Customers who do believe, meaning they like the idea of one cheap call rate 24/7 with no call credit expiry, are asked to pledge their allegiance by signing up for an auto top up facility. They are then rewarded for their loyalty with $100 free credit with no upfront cost.
“We created the ‘Believer’ deal to show customers how much we value them. If they believe in what we are doing then we feel they should be rewarded and that reward should be immediate” said Revolution Managing Director George Gelavis.
However the offer is not just for new customers. Their band of existing “Revolutionaries” are also eligible for the offer as Revtel look to reward their existing customer base too.
Of course there will always be those who need convincing. Revolution have identified this and must have spent many sleepless nights trying to name their offer.
The ‘Convincer’ deal is a low cost of entry, high value deal, aimed at giving customers the opportunity to join Revolution with no fuss and no commitment. Priced at $5, customers receive their SIM Starter Pack with $20 credit ready to use. Customers also have the flexibility to recharge if, and when, they wish either online or at one of 8000 outlets across the country.
“Being a relative new comer to the prepaid mobile market we wanted to give customers the opportunity to try our service with no risk. We are confident enough in what we offer and believe the majority who give us a go will stick with us” said Mr Gelavis.
“We also had to account for the fact that some of our customers may not have a credit card or may prefer the flexibility to recharge when they want at the local store or petrol station” concluded Mr Gelavis.

NEWS RELEASE
1st July 2005
Revolutionaries Unite!
Revolution Telecom’s parent company CommodiTel today announced to the ASX that it had achieved it’s 15,000 subscribers target for the end of the financial year.
“This is another significant step for the prepaid mobile Revolution” said Managing Director George Gelavis “But it is only the beginning. We are in a tough battle against some big competition, but we believe in our product and the service we provide and we know that as more customers learn about us they too will rise up and revolt!”
Indeed this is evidence that Revolution customers are starting to spread the word in their attempt to “crush the rorts” of the prepaid mobile industry.
Revolution promote their prepaid mobile offering as a cheap, no frills, user pays service and based on the recently released results it seems customers are beginning to understand the concept as more “Revolutionaries” unite.
In fact it seems the Revolution is following in the footsteps of the inspiration of their business model, Telmore, the Danish telecommunications company who completely revolutionized the prepaid mobile market in their home country.
“We saw what Telmore did in Denmark and we wanted to do the same here” said Mr Gelavis. “Since their launch mobile rates have just continually fallen.”
One can only hope that Revolution achieve the same success in the Australian market and continue to fight against their larger counterparts to “crush the rorts” and provide lower call rates to their customers.

NEWS RELEASE
18th April 2005
The Mobile Debt Trap
Mobile phones have become a must-have for most Australians. A recent study by market intelligence provider IDC shows the number of Australian mobile phone users will grow by 7.4% to 19.2 million in 2005, with service revenue growing at a slightly faster rate of 8.4% to A$8.7 billion.
As the Australian market nears saturation point mobile service providers marketing tactics are becoming more aggressive as they attempt to lure customers from their competitors. As deals appear more attractive many unsuspecting consumers are falling into the mobile debt trap.
Unfortunately, mobile phone services are drawing a growing number of consumers into debt at an early age.
Mobile phone services are now one of the primary causes of youth debt. Many consumers find charges for mobile phone services complicated and are often unaware of what they are spending until a phone bill arrives.
Revolution Telecom are aiming to alleviate the confusion in the mobile market with their easy to understand, no frills, cheap prepaid product.
“We looked at the mobile phone market for both prepaid and post-paid and found that few, if any, providers offer an easy to understand prepaid product” said Revolution Managing Director George Gelavis.
“It is common knowledge that mobile consumers, particularly in the younger age groups, are susceptible to getting into financial difficulty simply because they aren’t aware of what they are being charged. We wanted Revolution to not only be cheap but also fully transparent and easy to understand” said Mr Gelavis.
In fact in looking at recommendations from the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association on ways to greatly reduce mobile phone costs it is apparent the Revolution prepaid offer goes a long way to abating fears of mobile debt.
The AMTA provides customers a list of things to consider to avoid mobile debt including:
• If in doubt choose prepaid - if they are uncertain of personal needs and unsure of how much money will be spent, users should begin on a prepaid mobile phone.
• Examine the actual call rate, as well as SMS and voicemail.
• Consider whether it is cheaper to call someone rather than SMS them, or vice versa.
• Consider if the call is urgent or if you can wait until an off-peak time (usually after 7pm and before 7am).
• Finally find out what network friends and family are on as many mobile service providers offer cheaper rates to call the same network.
Given Revolution offer one of the cheapest call rates in the prepaid market, to any mobile or landline any time of the day and to any network, Revolution truly do make it easy to avoid the mobile dept trap.

NEWS RELEASE
12th January 2005
The Mobile Revolution
The first ever Australian Discount Mobile Provider, Revolution Telecom, launched recently.
A concept originating in Denmark in late 2000, Discount Mobile Providers (DMP’s) have secured 20% of the total local mobile market. Pioneer DMP’s, Telmore and CBB Mobil, acquired 43.7% of all new mobile customers during the period 2H 2000 to 1H 2003*.
DMP’s are identifiable by their very low, single tariff prepaid mobile offering, and a lean online distribution model. The DMP’s discount offering is dependent on customers servicing themselves over the internet. Customers register and recharge online.
One of the first Australian DMP’s, Revolution Telecom, has adopted a similar streamlined business model.
“Revolution offer a no frills, low rate, pay-for-what-you-use, prepaid mobile service, featuring some of the most competitive call rates in Australia” said Revolution Managing Director, George Gelavis.
“We don’t bundle services you don’t need or clawback subsidies for free handsets into our rates. If you don’t want it, you don’t pay for it.”
With a sales and distribution channel based solely online, Revolution aim their product at internet savvy mobile users who are happy to use their own handset and are less likely to need help from expensive call centres.
Revolution are owned by publicly listed CommodiTel (Australia) Pty Ltd and have national network coverage on the Vodafone network.
*Strand Reports “Discount mobile service providers will be a great threat to mobile operators and traditional service providers.”, 26th October, 2004.
