INFORMATION ON RATE INCREASE

Until 7 December 2007 we advertised standard call charges at 9.9 cents per 30 sec. However, up until 7 December 2007, due to our error, your call charges may have on occasion been charged at 10c per 30 secs rather than 9.9c per 30 secs. Your account has been credited $1 to compensate you for any possible amount that you were charged above the amount that you should have been charged when our advertised standard call rate was 9.9 cents per 30 secs.

Since 7 December 2007, we have advertised standard call charges at 10c per 30 secs and all standard calls have been and will be charged at that rate.

Why are we increasing your rate from 9.9 cents to 10 cents per 30 seconds?

We have found that our billing systems have a slight rounding inconsistency whereby customer’s call values are sometimes rounded up or down, depending on the length of call.

For example, when our advertised call rate was 9.9 cents per 30 seconds, if you were to speak on the phone for 3 minutes, you would have been charged 79.4 cents for the call. However our billing system rounded the cost of the call down to 79 cents.

Similarly, if you were to speak on the phone for 2 minutes, you should have been charged 59.6 cents for the call. However, our billing system rounded the cost of the call up to 60 cents.

What compensation will I receive for past calls made that have been affected?

You will receive a $1 credit to your prepaid balance.

Why $1 and how was it calculated?

We have looked at our customer history and worked out that the average customer life span is 12 months. The average length of a phone call has been calculated to be 2 minutes.
Based on this information, and the average customer monthly spend, we estimate that we may have overcharged you by $1.

How does this affect me?

Since 7 December 2007, our standard call rate has been 10 cents per 30 seconds.
